Grocery-Anchored Retail
Improving neighborhoods through expanded retail choices
Improving neighborhoods through expanded retail choices
Research indicates that residents that lack sufficient access to full-service grocery stores suffer from higher rates of heart disease and diabetes. CDF invests in developments that broaden retail access in underserved areas.
CDF funds retail developments that:
Have a grocery anchor
Are located in or near a “food desert” – areas with limited access to full-service grocery stores
Involve new construction or substantial renovation, with total real estate costs in excess of $5 million
Are financed in part with commercial debt
