Investing in Chicago’s Low-income Communities
Founded in July 2005, the Chicago Development Fund (CDF) is a non-profit corporation that provides capital to qualifying projects and businesses in low-income areas of the City of Chicago through the use of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTCs). CDF was awarded a $100-million allocation of NMTCs by the United States Department of the Treasury in September 2006, the largest allocation awarded to a municipality during that round.

- Controlled by the City of Chicago
- Only applicant with a local service area to win $100 million during the 2006 allocation round
